Ozma tapped the side of the shell, listening to her finger tip echo into it's heart.
It has been sitting on her throne this morning. No one had seen who had brought it, no one knew where it came from.
When she held it up, she could hear the ocean, perfectly clear. Even, if she listened carefully, seagulls crying out over the surf.
It had to be a message from Queen Aquarine. She just didn't know what the message could be. Turning it again in her hands, she shook it, wondering if the message was tucked to deeply in the curls of the shell to escape on it's own.
This might require an adventure.

(Ozma, she could tell from her expression, already had an idea about the origins of the mysterious seashell.)

Which, in Oz, actually was a valid possibility. She smiled at her dear friend, holding out the shell to offer it to Dorothy. Perhaps she could find it's mystery.
"See if maybe you can see something I'm missing."

"I think I'll need some paper," she said, "and a stick of pencil."

"Here you are!"
Her eyes were bright as she watched Dorothy work, quite certain she knew what the other girl had seen.
i will let you decide what the secret message says!
Once she'd finished, she handed the piece of paper with the rubbing on to Ozma so she could read it.
sounds good!
Ozma took the paper, laying it on her desk and pouring over it.
"It is, indeed from the Queen of the oceans." A loud passed over her face as her brows knit together. "And it looks like she needs our help. She says a darkness has ccome, but there isn't much detail..."
Straightening up, she looked up at Dorthy. "Will you join me?"
meanwhile i shall attempt to work on making dorothy sound dorothy-ish
"Of course I'll come!" she replied. "Really, Ozma, you never need to ask about these things. It's been forever ago since I let you go on an adventure alone. Now, are we going t'represent Oz when we go or is just going to be two of us as us?"
we can help each other o/
She frowned at the note, a bit distracted, before nodding as she came to that decision. Without more information, she wasn't sure if this should be state business.
"I'm going to send Glinda a note before we leave. So our path won't be completely secret."
